    Hey,

I was in WIND three years ago or so. It sucked. Reception at work was OK, but I had no bars at home in Surrey.

Now I live in New West and work in Gastown. Any one have experience with their reception in those areas?

Is there anyway to test drive it? Could I get my old WIND phone, sign up for a cheap account, and see what it's like? Would it cost extra for a new phone number, etc?

    Thanks

I'm not with wind but don't they have a guarantee like major carriers. You have so many days to make sure your satisfied or money back, hook one up and take it for a test drive to see first hand.

Fortunately, they just recently turned up the signal in Gastown. It used to be horrible .

Remember, 15 days or 30 minutes, whichever comes first. Test it with 30 second calls, a few texts, and data speed tests (for reliability). If it works for you, where you live, play and work, then it's a keeper. Remember outside of the home area is roaming. Pay before is smart, pay after is standard month-to-month billing.

I am on Wind. I get great reception on my z30 from Newton in Surrey all the way to waterfront downtown. The only time I lose signal is in certain stores in malls or sky train tunnels

Wind is fine now. Even in Surrey. 3 yrs ago the network was still premature, only served vancouver well. Now its fine everywhere in Metro Vancouver.

Every carrier has weak spots around the region, esp in certain parts of buildings/tunnels etc

Thanks iamagod. It's very good to know.
So I can assume date speed is pretty decent with Wind?

Data speeds depend on the area you are in. Congestion affects speeds too. What I meant about shopblackberry was the website blackberry has where you could grab a BlackBerry unlocked.
