I posted this same question on the BlackBerry classic forum, I have a BlackBerry classic and devices won't connect to it when I turn on hotspot. Hotspot worked fine on my q10 and z30, but it doesn't with my classic, seemingly either because of a sswitch to a device running 10.3 or because of my switch from a micro to nano sim. Any insight?

Is it possible that you have not enabled the "tick" box that says "allow devices to connect"?

Maybe you shouldn't have done a device switch?

No ... I mean the screen before that one where you actually turn ON the hotspot. Before you hit configure, the option at the bottom refers to allowing devices to connect. I'm not sure what version of the OS you are on and whether the setup screen has changed, but I'm on 10.2.1 and I see that checkbox when I first enable the hotspot.

Running a version of 10.3 on BlackBerry classic, not sure what box you refer to but here's everything I see

Thanks kbz1960, that is the screenshot I was referring to. When you don't have any devices connected, the checkbox says "allow devices to connect". If you have devices connected, it says "allow more devices to connect".

Manant155 ... do you see the screen that kbz1960 has shared? What OS and carrier are you on? Perhaps that is why it is different.

It's on but nothing is connected to it. You can't log in with the password you made?

It could be the computer or device. Try restarting it. Windows can be finiky, and if possible, instead of the wifi drivers/software application control the hardware, let windows do it instead, or if it's windows, let the software do it only. I would recommend using a live CD/DVD or USB linux distribution (Mint, being the preferred one) instead, it connects without a problem to my BlackBerry Q10 (and it runs BlackBerry 10.2.1 (latest on windmobile). When I get the classic, i'll be doing the same tests to confirm.

That's the point of the thread... My devices won't connect, even though I'm using the right password

The device is my nvidia shield, although I have tried with other devices and none will connect. My shield connects to my home WiFi network just fine but nothing will connect to the BlackBerry hotspot

Tried giving it a different password or SSID/name? If no *droid devices connect to it (and you get an error about a certificate being invalid or something along that line), might wanna reboot them OR factory reset, if that doesn't work (only if they cannot connect to anything else). If nothing else works, reloading the BB10 software is the final approach, and yes, it would suck, but sometimes you have to do that.

That's my last resort at this point, but thanks for the suggestion

I actually read on another forum that it could be a carrier side problem... Although you're right, It wouldn't make sense because hotspot worked fine on my q10, but I think it might be worth a shot, at this point I'm willing to try anything. (y)
