Wifi wont turn on

Ok so my wifi used to work and all of a sudden it wasnt working.

I realised it wasnt checked on in the "manage network settings". So i check the box to turn it on and it just goes greyish and nothing happens. So i went "set up wifi" and it said to turn wifi on, so i selected this and it did not turn on and it says "The wifi radio is off." After a few seconds this message then turns to "unable to turn wifi on".

I have tried numerous battery pulls for minutes and this still does not work. I have even upgraded the OS to the latest version (6 something from 5) and still the wifi says the same thing

I have searched the internet to no avail and thought i would post on here and there did not seem to be a crackberry thread about it.

Hopefully we can get this sorted once and for all!

What device do you have, and what OS is installed?

What exact OS version number?
What carrier?
Do you have an active BlackBerry Data Plan?

Im having the same problem and I have a Torch 9800 with 9800jAsia_PBr6.0.0_rel3049_PL6.6.0.246_A6.0.0.706_ Vodafone_New_Zealand

yes my blackberry data plan is up and active

And what exactly happens when you try to connect to WiFi?
Have you tried rebooting the router?
Have you tried a different WiFi access point?
What other troubleshooting have you done?

everytime i select the box to enable the wifi it unchecks after a few seconds. I tried different routers rebooting the phone and even a device wipe and nothing seems to work

I'm having the same problem on my torch and I tried to downgrade from 6.0.0.706 to 6.0.0.600 and still no luck, it's got nothing to do with my router cause my curve 9330 connects just fine.

I too am having this same problem, i have a blackberry 9300 on 6.0..0.668, 6.6.0.236 on the o2 network.

When i select setup wifi network.
I click yes to Turn on Wifi.
Its says "turning on wifi",
within 5 seconds it says "The wifi radio is off",
and within another 5 seconds it says "unable to turn wifi on".

the wifi on my bold 9000 is also not turning on since yesterday...when i try to turn on my wifi by going into wifi setup...its says >> unable to turn wi-fi on. when i try to turn it on by going into network optios...its turns grey after i tick it...any help???
