Wifi help and questions

I have Rogers 2g edge network. I have a data plan with my features working facebook twiiter bbm and etc. texting and calling aswell. But when I try and browse internet it does not work. When I try and download app world on phone says I do not have an applicable data service or something. I have wifi on phone and i have data so i do not understand whats wrong. my phone was unlocked from telus cdma and i use it with rogers network now. is there a certain app for rogers internet on blkberries or something. please help + thanks on any good reply
