I just looked at my wifes bill for her line, she has a storm 1, however, she is not on the unlimited plan like I am and her billing shows the $30 month BB Plan. So it must be because I have the unlimited data package plan it is included maybe, but my bill is alot more that hers.

Also, for those in the $45.99 white Wifi icon camp what Service books for wifi do you have listed? I am curious if they are any different than us lowly $29.99 people.
Yea I agree, however, I have no issues what so ever with my WIFI, its working great with a white icon and using BBM and email while on WIFI.

ZachB from others it sounds like then you revert back to gray Wifi... Question ZachB can you list what Service Books for WiFi you have?

Did you backup data from an old bb and restore it to this one? If so, what happens if you do a Security WIPE of your device (to just erase data, do NOT do a Javaloader/wipe), and try to setup wifi??

When the 8320 first came out, there were wifi problems caused by backup/restore of data from older device (I took part in a thread about this for the 8320 on Howardforums way back). I wonder if the same thing is happening with the S2?
I did this last night and it did NOT work. still greyed out

Hmmm darn... That's what I have for Service Books and host routing... Hmmm... Must be something else. Someone said it's "provisioning" whatever that means...

Yep 9530newbie... It's a problem with RIM / Verizon and what dataplan you have... We have had several people confirm that tonight. I am confident that's the issue.

I just tried it and it definitely works (and I've been trying for the last two nights to get this to work). Went to VZW website, switched my plan to the $44.99 plan. Immediately got the new registration messages in my inbox. Turned off my wifi and turned it back on, then went to Host Routing Table and clicked on Register Now, and within just a few seconds I got the white WIFI indicator light. Turned off my mobile network, and I can still send/receive email and BBM's.

There are a few threads going on. While i do not question you at all, there have been others who say its a provisioning issue. Last night i tried to make a thread to consolidate all the WiFi issues/discussion, but no one bothered to post or merge threads...so everyone has to bounce around a bit. Maybe we should ask a moderator to make this a sticky?

Default After two straight days, wifi problem fixed

After being told multiple times by Verizon that "it's a Blackberry issue, call them" I finally got Verizon to try something for me that fixed the problem. Their $30 service doesn't include free Wi-Fi at this time, only their $45/mo. Blackberry Enterprise Service does. I had a technician upgrade me to the $45 service and within one minute the wifi icon lit up bright white. After a few minutes of testing, he downgraded me back to my $30 plan and the wifi service went away. Then I convinced him to leave me on the $45 service for the $30 price until they fixed the problem. This is all there is to it folks. Call them and ask them to upgrade you and will get the wifi service to work.
-Cheers

czechsmix Yes but this is just a temporary work-around.

And yes the mods should sticky one of these threads for Wifi... It's hard to keep track of them all.
