Wi-Fi dropping after a download from app world

I have a BB 9700 with the latest O/S.

I downloaded a free game from app world. After I did this, my Wi-Fi no longer works. I am on an open Wi-Fi network which worked 100% fine before I went to app world to download.

This happened to me once before and I decided to upgrade to the latest O/S. I refuse to do this again.

There has to be a reason why it stopped working. I can't surf out using the browser anymore, if I try, the network changes back to 3G and the Wi-Fi starts constantly dropping and re-connecting.

Has anyone had this happen to them before? I think it's a serious bug that needs to be corrected.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

I have tried multiple battery pulls, new sim card, resetting wifi to defaults...
