Netgear WNDR3700 Won't Hold BIS Connection

I recently upgraded the router in my house from a Linksys e2000 to a Netgear WNDR3700 (which is amazing by the way) and I am having a problem keeping the BIS connection on both my Bold 9650 and my wife's Curve 8350. The network name always appears at the top of the phone, but the blackberry icon on my phone is constantly changing between WiFi and 3G (and on my wife's phone, the wifi icon going from gray to white).

I have tried pulling an automatic IP and DNS and setting them manually on each phone to no avail. Is there some kind of setting that I need to change on the router like opening ports or something along those lines?

I read somewhere that somebody was told to keep their router on channel 6 to hold to Blackberry connection. I switched my router from channel 1 to 6 the other night and have yet to notice a drop.
