Connecting 9650 to wifi, signal quesiton?

My wifi connects with no issues. But, when I connect the phone in the room I am in most, just so happens that is where my router is, my signal strength is weak(only 1 bar).

When I leave the room where the router is, my signal strength gets better with full bars.

I'm no wifi expert, but I thought my signal strength would be better if the phone is in the same room as the router.

Any thoughts?

That isn't normal by any means.
Does your room happen to be full of trees? :P

But that isn't normal. Is there some huge metal object accompanying you?
