Default Suppose HP Turns off the Cloud?

Folks,

Ok, now I'm probably partially ignorant here, BUT what happens when HP shuts down the WebOS cloud servers? Isn't the WebOS mostly server based? Or am I not understanding something. How well is my 99 dollar tab going to work if this happens? I guess it will still play media, and browse the web, but what about the calander, and the apps, and anything that depends on the "cloud"?

BTW I don't have a 99 dollar Touchpad YET, as I missed out on wave one, BUT I'm gonna take another shot with wave two. However I'd like to know more about this issue. Or am I totally wrong here?

I don't know; but by the time shut down the WebOS severs, Android or Windows 8 will beginning on it. I really hoping that Windows 8 will be ported to the Touchpad!

Ummm... you would not be able to do anything. You have to log in to your palm/hp profile like the Pre/Pixi before getting into any part of the OS, no?

The problem is all of the tablets released by the time the new OSes roll out will be far better and there could easily be hardware requirements that the touchpad will not meet.

I see no reason why Ice Cream Sandwich or Windows 8 cannot run on the TouchPad. In fact, one of the reference models Windows showed off at BUILD was a tablet with the same processor as the TouchPad.
