Default pre plus vs droid

which device is a more powerful and better product?
its tough to decide...

I will say that my luck with android thus far sucks..
too soon to say about the palm pre plus though..

I did have great luck with treos in the past though..

Honest opinion, the Droid is a more powerful and capable device. This is due to the Android OS being more capable than Web OS, however, Web OS seems to be more refined. However, neither has the refinement of a BB OS. There are so many features that these two relatively new OS's have to add to even get close to the BB OS. They may look better than a BB, but they don't perform as well as a BB. Both devices are really good though and offer some exciting features.

I have both and have to go with the DROID. Main reason is the pre plus' battery is one of the worst ever, and its not that speedy when compared to the DROID. If you root the DROID you can OC to 1.2ghz as well.

To clarify, I was thinking of the messaging features. After having the Hero and now the Pre, I have really missed the messaging features that make BBs so great. I will list them:

1. autotext
2. unified messaging box
3. push email for all email clients
4. push notifications for Facebook, Twitter, etc.
5. double tap spacebar for period (Pre doesn't have this)
6. spell check

Non-messaging features:

1. auto on/off
2. file box
3. LED light (Pre does have this)
4. media syncing application (both Hero and Pre were drag and drop)

I will maintain, I think that the BB OS is more refined, as it should be because it has been around longer. Android and Web OS are missing some key features. Just my opinion.

P.S. this message is from planet Earth. LOL.

The auto on/off is probably impossible for most other platforms (short of creating some entirely new sleep mode or something), since the BB doesn't actually power off for auto on/off (unlike most other platforms).

Also, to add. With my Hero, text messaging was a fiasco. My texts frequently were delivered out of order and many are delivered late. I couldn't send MMS effectively if wifi was turned on. And some of the native applications didn't work properly. Anyone have a Hero that has a YouTube app that works? I haven't met one. I am still a big fan of Android, but it isn't immune to issues - neither is the Web OS.

1. never use it anyway.
2. Unified messaging box isn't a big thing. Only BBs do it. No other Major Mobile OS does it.
3. Push email for exchange and gmail is there in android.
4. Push notifications for facebook, twitter; etc is also there for android. + those applications look wayyyyy better on android.
5. Seriously? Double tape space bar for period is that big of a deal? i can just hit the period button.
6. spell check? hmm hvnt noticed that.

1. auto on/off isnt possible for any phones except BB so moot point.
2. file box - android market has plenty of apps for that.
3. LED light- droid and pre has that/
4. media syncing app does exist for the droid.

list of things BBs dont have.
1. Overclocked processors! MAIN POINT. You can OC the pre safely to 800 mhz which makes it faster in ANYTHING than ANY BB. Droid can go to 1.2 ghz safely and is the fastest fone on the market while OCed.
2. WEB BROWSER.
3. Non-truncated emails.
4. wifi tethering on the droid and pre

I have to agree with this 100%...I have gone from an 8330 Curve, Storm2, Tour, HTC Droid Eris, and now Palm Pre Plus.

As far as USING the phone, BB wins no question about it....the Eris (same as Hero) lags just a bit when opening/switching between apps, and is more of a "fun" phone rather than a "useful" phone....IMO, the Pre kinda sits in the middle of the two...more useful and efficient than the Eris but still not as good as BB.

That said, I got really bored with BB and am happy with the Pre Plus...

Once Palm Pre Plus launches for At&t, I honestly am considering switching over to that. I just really wish Storm came to At&t then I would love the Storm 2 that much more, but using it currently without 3G is a bummer.....

By the way, I am aware of all the battery drainage issues with Palm Pre

Are there extended batteries available for it or at least aftermarket larger batteries?

There is an extended life battery available for the pre...made by seidio, so problem solved there. As for the Storm2, out of all of the phones I have had that I listed above that was BY FAR my least favorite...returned it after one week. Typing was horrible if you type even moderately fast...and web browsing was irritating because while trying to scroll up/down, it would try to copy text so then you would have to hit clear to cancel the copy text action....I am growing to love my Pre Plus more every day.

i came to a pre plus from a storm and curve. both the storm and curve were terrible. pre plus is amazing. the droid has the exact same processing power stock as the pre plus and ram is the same too. webos might not have all the apps as android but it certainly is a lot nicer looking (in my opinion).
