-Was signed in to AIM almost all day.
-Email accounts set to poll every 30 mins
-Wifi was on for a few hours.
-Moderate browsing, SMS and AIM chat.
-Was in a poor signal area most of the time.
-Streamed Pandora for about an hour while driving + BT on

Battery is still at 62% after 12 hours, thing would be dead quite a while ago with the OEM battery.

pixi beats pre for one reason and one reason only: BUILD QUALITY!
i had the pre in september and had it replaced 4 times for hardware issues and they ALL HAD DEAD PIXELS!
the one pixi i got had no dead pixels and no hardware issues at all.
the pixi is too small though...

Dead pixels are a general lcd defect though.. Odds are palm is making the Pixi lcds in the same place with the same workers as the Pre

You got "lucky"? I know someone on here got a stuck pixel on a BB tour, not to mention any other LCD in existence can and will have a dead or stuck pixel on at least some of their units.

Sorry, Pre's aren't the only phones for this to happen on. It would be like saying only Samsung brand TVs have dead pixels and the others don't, it just doesn't really happen like that.

The HTC Touch Pro 2's had a case of dead pixels also. It happens on a regular with electronics from TV's and computers to cell phones. Its one of those things where there could be a bad batch that gets out, but it happens. Also you can't compare the problems of one phone really to another because even though blackberries might not have a case of dead pixels, think about all the issues with the recent blackberry Tour e.g Bad trackballs, bad speakers, echoing sound from in ear piece, buttons not working, random resets etc the list goes on. No company is perfect and bad batches do get out, its the norm.

The pics are horrible quality because I don't have my good camera charged right now, but you kinda get the idea.

I actually like the look of it with the extended battery. It gives it some real substance.

And yes, every LCD can/has some dead pixels. The screen real estate on a Curve, coupled with the low resolution would make it more difficult to really see. I had two dead pixels on my Curve, but it never bothered me. You cant tell when the phones screen is on. The Hero has also had some dead pixel issues. Its the nature of LCD, and a certain number of dead pixels is considered "normal" by the standard, and places will be reluctant to exchange items for a couple of dead pixels.

That and the stupid back isn't a glossy, slippery, fingerprint magnet, which is great. The phone is kind of slippery to hold with the OEM battery door.

palm pixi pwns palm pre, that's for sure. and if dead pixels are SO common then how come my blackberry 9000, sidekick lx 09, palm pixi, and now blackberry 9700 haven't had any AT ALL?

you guys really can't argue the dead pixel issue with me lol.
