Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | I can't believe someone actually thinks 755p's browsing was "so much faster" Never mind that it was slow as **** and ran on a browser that couldn't render anything worth a damn (Blazer) or crashed all the time (Garnet Opera Mini). Tour BB browser isn't the greatest out there but it is definitely usable, and there is a WebKit browser in the works. I loved my Treo but it is a dinosaur. Pre, after all the updates, is actually a pretty good device I wouldn't mind having, and hopefully when it's second iteration arrives the hardware issues and other quirks will be fixed.

Maybe my Tour is not functioning properly but there are enough posts on Crackberry that it seems typical. The Tour browser is definitely usable it's just that it should be so much better.

ya, its a neat looking phone, but its got the slide out keyboard, not for me!
like you said, the storm looked flawless in the prerelease ads, and so did the iphone, and many other phones.
Another phone is always going to have something you wish yours had, like the storm 9520 with wifi.
Some people would want it, some wouldnt, and some dont care!
Maybe the finger pinch is just a software issue that bb can add, it would be nice

Blazer had a ton of cache related problems... Also I'm pretty sure you could easily get a majority consensus that the Tour browser is far, far better than Blazer...

The pre is a great looking device with some cool features, but I don't know why we have to pin it against a BB. I have never understood why people must put down one thing to show the worth of another. Can't the Pre be a great device and the BB be a great device? Or is that over stepping some unwritten rule? I like them both. I have a BB and love it, but I can say that the Pre offers some really cool stuff I like the multitouch screen the multitasking cards feature and the synergy concept seems to be very innovative. See, we can like more than one device at a time.

Personally speaking, I could see the Pre as a decent niche device for certain people, although, in reality, all phones are. In my own humble opinion, the Pre and the Pixi both felt very cheap and wouldnt seem to be very durable, whereas my Curve is a d@mn tank. And purely from an asthetic standpoint, both the Pre and the Pixi are just bland and quite unappealing.

Gotta be blunt here - the Droid keyboard stinks, and really, the new 8530 Curve keyboard, as well as the Tour, can't compare to my old trusty (or is that rusty) Curve 8330. Hoping the Pre Plus will feel more natural to me.
For sure, the 8330 I've had has been rock solid reliable, and durable as a steel doormat. It would take a lot to make me switch to another type of device.

The Pre is sluggish and the battery won't get you through the day. Nice phone in theory, in daily use it's not as pleasant. The keyboard is nowhere near as good as the BB. I've used it, I know.

Fanboy consists of the product/company doing no wrong by you, nothing needs to be added/changed, and nothing will ever be better. At least you have an open mind to try something else. True fanboys will go with their "savior" until the day they die. |

I owned a fair share of devices, Winmobile(crap) Android pretty nice but not for me, and Blackberry, but not the pre, and the oh glorious iphone. The phones I would think about getting is android, pre, and blackberry. truly i love trying new phones and not always having the same phone.
See what I like about the pre(even though never owned one) they keep updating there os. Maybe not at the speed of light but there working on it. Plus its a fresh os. Remember the iPhone when if first came out? It took about 2-3 years just to get mms. And people ***** about the pre? If anything ***** at the iPhone. Blackberry is awesome I love it. Its a awesome communicating device. Idk about the pre though but all the other phones sucked at it. Either just let the palm grow and we will see what it has in store for us.
While waiting i would like better 5.0 releases for my Bold!

I had a palm pre, (well 3) and each one of them went wrong!
o2 uk had the phone for repair more than i got to use it!! in the end they sent it back saying "This phone can not be repaired". The contract was terminated and i went to vodafone and got a bold 9700
Blackberry is the definate winner.
