| | Can the Palm Pre Plus defeat the Storm 2?
I know, another thread trying to compare those devices. But I really can't decide which one I should go with. For 3 years know I have been enjoying my BlackBerry, I started of with a Curve and then went with my current phone the Tour.
The thing is, i can sign me up for a family Plan now and save money so I can also get a new phone. I love my Tour, but I want a Device with Wifi.
I seriously love my BlackBerry but I feel kinda limited with it. My new phone should be great for E-Mailing ( obviously a BB biggy), texting/instand messaging (icq) and for some fun apps.
Could you guys give me a little bit Feedback, which one would you choose and why? What's so great about the Palm?! I have read all the review but now I want some Feedback from the CrackBerry Community

The main advantage of the Pre over the Storm is the web browser though it also supports games much better than the BB.
For messaging/email and phone calls you Tour it better than a Pre. BTW I am not convinced that a touch screen phone is particularly good for messaging but some people like them I guess.

Why not either:
1) Get a 8530, it covers everything mentioned and is cheap.
2) Wait for the Tour2

The PP+ is a great little phone. and I mean little. It is small. the keyboard is not meant for NFL WR's, that's for sure. but if you give it a chance its a very nice keyboard. The internet browsing is unbelievable compared to blackberries. I have the storm2, as well, and I can load the full HTML crackberry page on my pre before it loads the mobile version on the s2.
The thing about the pre is that it isn't nearly as customizable as a blackberry. While using it, I keep looking to see how I can set multiple sound profiles, change the five homescreen icons, add recipients to texts without starting a new threaded message, etc. It's the little things you'll end up missing. AND BRICKBREAKER!!! I MISS IT SO MUCH ON THE STORM!!! The pre's version of brick breaker quite frankly looks like it was designed by a two year old.
If I were you, hold out until the new tour2 comes. It's coming soon. If you listen to the newest Crackberry Radio podcast, they mention how RIM and facebook teamed up to let out the fact that it's called the tour 9650 and coming soon.
My opinion: storm2 for customizability and business-like, pre if you browse the web, watch videos, and want a physical keyboard.
edit: ALSO, the pre battery is incredibly less powerful than s2. It needs to have a spare battery or a charger around it if you are a heavy user. it will drain in no time. probably 4 hours of heavy use will go down to 20%.

I have both devices that you are looking at here. While I am a die hard fan of the blackberrys, I have to give this one to palm. Browsing is faster, my emails, come in faster(10-15seconds), I can sync to multiple exchange mailboxes without a BES, I can get my AKO email on the palm without extra servers. The only three things that I have found with the palm that are drawbacks are the weak battery, lack of world capabilities and the small keyboard that you get used to after a while. I can still type faster on the storm though but that is not a deal breaker for me.

I like the Storm 2 over the Palm Pre Plus. I don't care what anyone says, I think the Storm 2 is a sweet device. I have a sour taste jn my mouth after going through five Pres in a week, before settling down with the hero.

Also in terms of sales, no, the Pre/Pre plus will never beat the S1/S2....

I personally liked older Palm devices alot and I know a couple people with new Pres who are very happy with them...but...why do people compare touch screen devices with keyboard devices. FIrst choose what kind of device you need and want, and then choose which one. Otherwise you're just kind of not making very much sense.

Id recommend the storm2 a lot better than the storm1. Had the storm2 for 2 weeks but I really wanted a physical qwerty keyboard so I went to the tour.

The Pre is very touchscreen centric, so it's not that hard to compare.

I loooved my Palm Pre back when I had it for Sprint, yes the biggest draw back is the keyboard, but if you can ge tuse to it you'll like the phone.
I feel like I'm more productive with the pre, putting entries in calander, taking notes, making phone calls its all just quick. For example, when I use to want to go to a web site, I'd just start typing the web site then click on gogole and it would search, same with making phone calls or getting directions somewhere. Plus the way it multi tasks is just great. I think the Palm Pre is a better phone but, like I said its that keyboard that kinda kills it.

The battery also kills it imo... You basically need a 2600mah battery to last throughout the day.
