We need to take care of web access?
Hello,
I know that is a basic and well know question, but I'm not really sure about the correct answer.
What really cover the BlackBerry service? from what I know it gives access to Internet browsing, allows e-mail messaging, instant messaging using the BlackBerry Messenger service, and more. So we don't really take care about the number of 'web access' MB in a given data plan. Am I correct?
I mean.. I have recently bought a UK SIM by Vodafone UK. I want to do the Vodafone Freebee, and I'm asking myself if I need to take in consideration the number of MB that every option offer.
From what I know I can browsing the internet and use the BlackBerry apps through BIS. The web access should be taken in consideration only by holders of other brands smartphone. I should have unlimited web access through BIS.
Apps like Whatsapp, Gmaps, Spotify, BlackBerry Travel, Dictionary, Shazam, Opera Browser, and so on should use the BIS connection. Am I correct?
Thank you for your time,

That's all part of your monthly allowancw. You need to keep track of all of it from the point of view of web access to include anything on the browser, bbm, emails, downloading from appworld, any other appication that uses web access

But how can I see if they are using the normal web access or BIS?
I'm asking this because for example Gmaps don't leave me choice the network. I don't know if it uses BIS or normal web access.
The same for BlackBerry Podcast and other Apps. - 04-16-2012, 01:12 PM #4

Sorry, I'm not a native English speaker so maybe I misunderstand.
With my Vodafone UK deal I pay £5 for BlackBerry services and £15 for 200 minutes, 600 texts and 100MB of web access.
So, I can use all my apps without any problem? such as BlackBerry Podcast, Spotify, etc.
Or I need to take care about the web usage? and in the case a have to take care about the web usage, how can I do it?
Sorry if I'm asking you two times the same thing, but from your previous replies I don't understand what do you mean.Last edited by I am Gianluca; 04-16-2012 at 03:45 PM.

I find myself struggling to use all of my data allowance each month so I randomly stream youtube videos over tbe 3G connection and even that doesn't seem to shorten down the amount of MB's I use.

You have to pay attention at your 100MB limit because when you surf the net using bb browser/other browser, or when you use apps such as Whatsapp, weather forecast apps, when you download apps from the App World ...and so on, the data that you use are included in the 100MB limit that your data plan provides.
You can monitor the mb of data you use with apps like Telicost, that you find in the App World.
Obviously, after you reach the 100MB limit, you can continue to use the browser, the apps, but you'll pay the data as determined by your carrier. Or you can use WiFi.
I think you are italian (from the username) so I traslante what I've just written before.
Oppure puoi usare il WiFi).Last edited by BB M.D.; 06-19-2012 at 11:44 AM.
