It does say you will be entered EP win a free voyager... But why would you want one if you have a blackberry and why would they want to downgrade your data plan from $30/month to $15/month doesn't make sense to me

Sidebar is adware... and possibly trackware/spyware. On the Verizon mobile page for Sidebar it says "Content, including your wireless phone number, may be intercepted by third parties without your or our (Verizon's) knowledge and permission."

NOT Ok.

The website for Sidebar says it sends "hightly targeted" content and this:

Quote:
Targeted Reach, to engaged consumers via cognitive scheduling. This highly sophisticated system enables targeting by demographic, psychographic, users' expressed preferences, historical use patterns, day, time and geography.
Digital Sidebar Home

Advertisers

I would interpret that to mean it could be tracking your useage -- where you go and what you view in your browser, possibly other useage like email or sms, to send you targeted ads Sounds kinda like spyware... Anyone remember Gator?

I would avoid this like the plague and, if I were a BES admin, I'd block access to it if possible.

Thumbs down battery hog!

I have been playing with it for a few days now... kills the battery big time. Pretty annoying when I try to use speed dial after ending one call, since the ad is up my speed dial key is ignored... then I realize what happened and have to hit the key again.
