Default Push email more delayed on VZW?

E-mails are pushed to my phone anywhere from 5-15 minutes after they are received on my various e-mail accounts. When i was on a GSM carrier previously, it was closer to instantaneous. Is this a VZW/CDMA thing?

Sounds normal for POP3 email on BlackBerry.

If you were seeing them "sooner" previously, it probably was just a coincidence in the timing.

I have had vzw for a long time. My emails lately have been delayed about ten-twenty minutes. In the past on vzw it was instant. I don't know what is going on. I do a battery pull daily and have the update prl.

It seems for me this week they have been a little slower to my phone than usual...

Edit: closer to 15-20 minutes

I just had someone email me and it took 78 seconds. Perhaps the network in your area is having issues.

I'm not seeing any delays. Most of the time it's immediate.
Good Luck

I sent an external email to my account and my BB got it in about 5-7 seconds. I am using an imap server though. There are always 3 idling imap sessions connected (3 BBs in the family) to the imap server on my mail hub from bis6.us.blackberry.com. Not sure where VZW plays into the picture unless bis6 is dedicated to VZW.

Today it ranged from 2 minutes to 20 minutes, mostly closer to 20.

Microsoft Outlook is an email CLIENT.

It is not an email type.

The TYPE of email makes a difference.

Again, it's IMAP vs. POP3. That's what is meant by "TYPE".

What you are describing is within the normal parameters of how POP3 email works on BlackBerry.

If that's an issue in your situation, you might want to consider using an email service that supports IMAP.

My bad, it is a POP type email.

I realize this is how it works but just seems like e-mails have never taken this long (15 minutes or more) to be pushed to my phone.
