not from a technical stand point. I have seen no notification.
Due date and release are very different

While it is not "official" from Verizon, you can download version 4.5 from BlackBerry. They no longer check for your carrier and what your most current version is. You don't have to edit any files either.
I did the download this afternoon and everything went smoothly. It only took around 15 minutes to do.- Jane

This will be great news for all if this version is released by VZW!!!

When I go from their site using the device software on their site it tells me I already have the latest and it wont let me install anything using their AppLoader. I am running 4.3 right now. Not sure if the reason why it wont let me update is because I am also on BES.

4.5.0.77 cannot be the official vzw release with the known bugs. i mean, the automatic flash doesn't even work when using the video recorder. also there is the speaker phone issue when receiving a call.

I have Verizon and use 8130/4.5.0.77
No problems for me.

I too have downloaded 4.5.0.77
the only difference i see is more file free memory (from 18 to 21)
i no longer have preloaded pictures (i have no idea why)
i do not see an option for docs to go (is that BES only?)
i have not been able to read html emails (I still get link codes for pics etc.)
so my question is...
what's the point? Everyone was so excited for this upgrade and besides a small memory increase i dont see anything real special about it...
sigh....anticlimactic...

I guess I'm still going to wait for Verizon to release. I saw at the top of this post the 10-10-08 which I'm sure is not right.
I hope it won't be much longer.
My BB runs so well right now and Empower Email is pretty decent so I guess I'm not in a hurry to screw around with it.No more Palm.....now a Crackberry Addict! - 10-08-2008, 05:56 PM #17
Last time I spoke with someone from Verizon, they had last heard November... But I am sure you get 10 different answers from 10 different people.

Just do your research before hand. Know how to install the Doc to Go option (Wont install unless you tell it to specifically) Also after the upgrade I would resend your service book using the VZW BIS site. My 4.5.0.77 upgrade went pretty flawless. I did the research and made sure I had plenty (at least 2 hours) of free time to do the upgrade and work out any issues I ran into.

Of course you will get 10 different answers. If the reps would stop guessing and not tell folks what is HEARD!, rather I do not know there has been no info given (which is true) then we would not be having this conversation.

There are issues with .77 on Verizon, even if you don't notice them. If they choose .77 for the official release I"m going to laugh at them!
1) Sound comes out of the speaker for 2 secs when you answer a call.
2) Default ringtones missing (however this could have just been an issue with the BETA release of .77)
3) VZNav starting on its own whenever it feels like bug.
4) Flash issues on 8330 for some people.
I think if VZW releases a version it'll be the .89 version instead. That's the latest in carrier testing now for CDMA. - 10-09-2008, 06:01 PM #25
I still have not seen the official OS on verizons website yet and its 10/9. Good job Verizon!
From BlackBerry to Android and Back To BlackBerry. Thank you to the Bold 9930, which also brought me back on Verizon!
