How i got a free Storm 2 from verizon.
I went to the Verizon store today because my 8530 stopped working. This wasn't the first time I had a problem with that phone. They looked at my account and noticed that this was my 6th phone replacement in one year. So the rep said "hold on one moment wile I talk to my manager." So after a few minutes she comes back out with a new in box Storm 2. This is why I love Verizon.

No offense, but I'd take a 8530 any day over the Storm2.

I wonder if you would have loved them as much if they didn't give you a free new phone?
My opinon is mine and mine alone. If you don't like it, go to Match.com and find someone who cares.

This happened to me last week, except that I haven't been through 6 different 9530 devices. Hats off to you for putting up with that crap for so long. My 9530 almost lasted the full 2 year contract, but sections of the screen died/became non responsive last month.
Anyways, the reason you got a brand new 9550 (like I did) is because Verizon is no longer supporting/stocking the 9530. It's that simple.
Maybe, (my sister has an 8530) but some of us like the larger screen. - 11-04-2010, 03:04 PM #7
I'm sorry to hear that.

Ok man.
No reason to get all twisted in a knot over it. I know lots of people have had really bad experiences with the Storm 1. But, like I mentioned before, my crappy 9530 almost made it a full 2 years before the screen became totally unusable. And I've only had the 9550 for a week now. So the screen is still very usable.
Besides, the larger screen suits my needs. I get images emailed to me by clients and it just makes life easier when viewing them on the larger screen when I'm obviously not in front of a computer. - 11-04-2010, 10:47 PM #13
Enjoy your new phone. I hope it works out well for you. We all should have good working devices. I just wish they didn't make a person deal with so many replacements. 6....that is 3 too many in my opinion.
And as for the 6.0 OS I don't like it. Used it for awhile and was glad to downgrade back to the 5.0 which works great for me. My battery life drained horrible on the 6.0
I also don't like how they have all the icons. I am ok with the 5.0 No issues for me !
Have an Incredible day !

If I break my Fascinate 6 times by the end of the year, will they give me my Bold back?

Same type of thing happened to me last week. I was having problems with my Bold 9650. So I called tech support, and they said, that because I have gone thru so many bolds, they can either replace the bold again, or give me an early upgrade to any phone I want if I sign on to another agreement. So I took the early upgrade, and got a Droid X, and I have to say I love it. I have been a huge blackberry supporter, but this Droid X is a GREAT phone. I'm very happy with Verizon, and they have always done right by me.

I think everybody who is a normal poster on this forums knows that blackberries have issues, I'm sure the people at Verizon are very aware of this also and are trying to please their customers, they make way more money off of your service then they do the phone that's why after a period of time they give phones away free just for signing a contract, if I'm paying 100 dollars a month I better have a phone that's working 100 percent
Not to mention the fact these phones have a 1 year manufactere warranty so its RIM that has to fix them not Verizon
