yes you have to be outside or near a clear shot of sky from window. Last time I check to get satellite reception you have to have a receiver on the roof. well same goes for this, you have to be outside.

Do you need to have the verizon OS version installed? I have .97 and it isn't working even with everything set correctly.

do you mean 4.3.0.97? if so I believe you need at least 4.5.0.77 for it to work.

I have zoomed all the way in and it works fine. every sec it moves with me walking around, now I only walked 1-2 mph lol but i still get roads and such...

I tried the *228 and option 1 - no change

How do you resend the service book for the map application?

Hope fully nav 4 all and all the other gps aware apps begins to work or get updated.
There is : Whrrl, twibble, gpsd, ect.

There is also geatags on 4.5 for camera. Gonna go test that!

Yes you can get google maps on your phone. We (vzw employees) got notice of this a few days ago that the gps would be unlocked. I have google maps now and i love it. SCREW VZNAV!! yeah i work for them and I hate it and agreed with the class action lawsuit.

It works on my phone, I guess being next to the window didn't pick up the GPS. However, it is constantly searching and connecting say 5 times every minute. There aren't any obstructions in the way, and I'm outside. Does anyone else experience this?+

I have 4.5...77 but I didn't get it from Verizon. Dunno if the GPS works with any of the other cdma os versions but it works great on mine!! Yay!!

Works awesome in the car! Followed me the whole way and zoomed it it kept up with my speed and turns, runs fast....
