This is my opinion and in no way reflects the opinion of Verizon Wireless or its affiliates, or any other company or business.

As an Asurion claims department CSR for Verizon Wireless customers, I can tell you that your replacement phone through Asurion will either be brand new, or it will be a certified like new (refurbished) device, depending on what is first available in our inventory. The goal is to get you a replacement as soon as possible, so the first available equipment is always used. All replacements come with a 12 month warranty, which is handled through Asurion. If you receive a brand new replacement, the warranty is covered through Asurion for the 1st 30 days, then the warranty transfers to Verizon Wireless. With new equipment after 30 days you will need to provide Verizon Wireless with a Proof of Purchase which can be obtained from Asurion on customer request.
