Activating an Alltel phone on VZW
A friend of mine decided to give his Tour a beer bath and it no longer works. He was wondering if he can activate an old BB that he had on the old Alltel network on his VZW account. I know that you can't activate a CDMA phone from Sprint on VZW, but since in our area Alltel was taken over by VZW, can it be done?

No, our POS system no longer recognizes Alltell equipment

Only if you have an Alltel plan still. I do so right now since my Droid went pffftt I am using an old Touch Diamond.
