9930 update problems

My daughter and I each have a 9930. After a recent software update, her phone became rather useless. The icons became very small. She couldn't do many functions.
The Verizon store ordered her another phone. When it arrived, she loaded her backup and everything seemed fine until she did a Facebook app update.
She called Verizon and they had her wipe the phone and reload. This worked well for a couple of days; but, it has now gotten even worse.
Verizon is sending her another phone.
I have not had these problems. Has anyone else had severe problems after doing software updates?

Sounds like a currupt database. With the new device, only load the barest essentials (contacts, calendar, email) and set up everything else by hand.

I believe you are correct.
She loaded a previous backup this evening and it is working fine.
She tried a selective load of her latest bakup, but still had problems. I'm not sure what all she selected.
She is very leery of software updates now.

Did you update using OTA or blackberry desktop?
