Why cant I update my OS??

Ok so I went to the USCC site, and I downloaded the OS to my computer.. I am just having problems getting it to my phone? It did something when I tried to download it, but it just deleted everything off my blackberry, then put it all right back on there. But not with the new OS. How do I get the new OS?

You say that you've downloaded the OS to your PC, have you also installed it to your PC?

You think so? So you downloaded the OS and then ran the executable to install to your PC? If so, then connect device to PC and run loader.exe to load OS to device.

Im sorry. Im confused. What do ya mean run the executable? And run the loader.exe?

Download the OS to your PC and open (run) the file (it is an executable file). This will install the OS to your PC. Then, browse to the Program Files>Common Files>Research In Motion>AppLoader directory and run the loader.exe file to install to device. Ok well I think I did it right. But it didnt download the OS .281... It kept the .169 on there.... Ughhhh. I dont know what I am doing wrong??
