Angry USCellular installed Daily Perks?!?!

What in the heck? I did an update on Blackberry App World, and rebooted my Bold. It took about 25 minutes to reboot and cut on; I was a little freaked out that it froze for so long at 75% on the status bar.

I just went into my download file, and there is a new app there called "Daily Perks". I searched online, and this is a new app from USCellular. They tell you how you can get it, but USCellular website never says they are going to send it to your phone automatically!

I want to delete it out of my download file; I do NOT want them to send me "weather information, movie releases, sports scores, fun facts and trivia, helpful tips, and more AND valued offers from local and national businesses for new products, contests and discounted goods and services."

It doesn't show up in my apps; how do I delete this crap?

They don't install applications, they push icons that go to a page so you can download it if you want.
You can't delete it, you can only hide it.

I know that it isn't installed, but it still ticks me off that they push it onto my phone. Grrr.

Thanks for letting me know I can only hide it.

Grrr again.

all providers do this as part of the service agreement, you signed up for it.

no need to get mad, you gave them permission.

Every carrier has bloatware they preload or load onto devices. Been around since dumbphones and has only continued on smartphones.

Has anyone else clicked on the icon and installed this?

I was curious about it so I did and since then have been getting junk text messages.

I'm not sure if it's because of the daily perks app (it was removed shortly after installing) or something else.

Any one else have something similar happen?
