Default USC getting HTC Desire in July

Sorry, USCC. it wont let me change the title.

After much research, I have decided to make the switch from my 8330 to the HTC Desire when it becomes available.
We always hear the term "I Phone killer" but the Desire is truly closer than any other to being just that. Android is very intriguing to me and after playing with an Android phone I must say, it rocks. Dont get me wrong I love BB and my 8330 has been solid, but it seems that there is so much more out there.

Is anyone else making the switch?

Was thinking of it but just saw on gsm arena web site htc only has 120mb to store apps in. I'm out of room on the 8530 so if this is true it will be a 9650 for me.

It will launch with Android 2.1 (Eclair) but 2.2 (Froyo) will allow apps to be installed to the microSD card. So it's only a matter of time, probably by the end of the year...

And HTC's site says 512MB of ROM
HTC - Products - HTC Desire - Specification

If you are referring to the Desire, I heard July from a rep at the store. Also has a 1 GHz processor.

It's actually pushed back to the first week of August now. The Samsung Acclaim will be out July 2nd though.

I'll be making the switch. I love my Tour and loved my 8330, but it is time.

Little birdies tell me things.

The Acclaim will be a nice option for people that want a keyboard, granted it only has the 800Mhz processor to the Desire's Snapdragon and only has a 3MP camera to the Desire's 5MP, but plenty of people will be picking it up, especially since it will launch first.

So Big E 4284 do you know how big of mem card it will support and how hard is it to create diferent ring tones for everything? You seem to have a lot of knolage on the desire. I am a big berry fan but am willing to give it a try.

It supports up to a 32GB microSD card. I have no idea about the ringtone question, that would be a limitation of the operating system so as long as Android 2.1 supports it then you're good to go.

Switch? Nah. If anything I've been happy enough with the 8530 to want to upgrade to the 9650 now.

Its not that the 8530 is bad but had to switch from vzw to us and give up my 9550. The android would have to impress me huge to win out over the 9650 as the video of os6 looks very cool.
