US Cellular Overrides Default Ringtone?
I am a US Cellular customer. I set my ringtone for all phone calls for the Normal sound profile to Tune_BachFugueDMinor. I have not set any custom ringtones for individual contacts. When a non-US Cellular customer calls, it rings the Bach ringtone as expected. But when a US Cellular customer calls, it rings a barely audible "ding-dong" notification-type sound instead of the Bach ringtone. When I look at the ringtone settings for ANY individual contact, US Cellular customer or not, the ringtone appears to be set to "US Cellular" (the ding-dong sound), though that does NOT show up in my list of ringtones under Media. I manually changed a US Cellular contact's individual ringtone to the Bach one, asked him to call me, and confirmed that it rang as Bach, like non-US Cellular calls do.
Short of manually changing every single US Cellular customer's individual ringtone (as if I magically know which carrier each contact uses!), is there any way to override this? Why is US Cellular forcing their own custom ringtone to override the one I set up in the Normal sound profile?
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it,
Erica
