Tell RIM to make a CDMA touchscreen Blackberry that isn't the Storm (VZW exclusive). It's not US Cellular's fault.

The carriers have input if they're willing to shell out a bunch of dough. US Cellular is not among those willing to do this.

USCC has the 9650 and 9330. 9670 will be coming out soon. They have no say in the touch devices. Once VZW gets the Torch, then it may find its way to USCC.

It is clear that USCC is not trying its best to get new BBs. Instead they are going after the Windows and Android phones. So they clearly have the pull to get the newer Droid and Windows phones, but sell the out dated 9650 and the not much different new curve. The Style will not be a big seller for USCC but woman may snatch it up.

Also, asking $150 (after mail in rebate) for the 9650 is way out of line. Not sure what they are thinking other then kill of BB and go with Windows or Droids.

USCC is not BB friendly. Out of 5 sale people 1 new anything about BBs.

Its so clear..

Tim

Keep beating that drum, it's not going to change. RIM hasn't made a compelling CDMA BB in a long time. Blaming USCC is unreasonable.

What CDMA BlackBerry devices is USCC missing?

Bold 9650? They've got it.
Curve 9330? They've got it.

Storm? Verizon Exclusive.
Style? It's coming.

What else is there?

Pearl 3G? They haven't made a CDMA version yet.
Torch? No CDMA version, and an AT&T exclusive.

USCC's lack of BlackBerry devices is... well.. because there are a lack of CDMA BlackBerry devices available.

My $0.02.... read in another forum about how "exclusive phones" come around, large companies like VZW and Sprint help subsidize the cost of developing new phones, in return they get a cheaper phone on wholesale price to send out on a plan with an exclusive dealer agreement for a period of time, basically I will send you money to hep make it, in return only I get it and at a cheaper price then others.

Blaming USCC and other less than gizzilion billion dollar companies is not correct.

Right, you can't blame USCC. They have what is available to them. In this world of choice you can go to AT&T and get a torch or Verizon and get a Storm. The down side is you have to deal with (in my opinion) AT&Ts terrible customer service. You do have the choice if it means that much to you. Me? I love my 9650 combined with USCCs service. That's my choice.

I've heard from a few friends i have that work at USCC that after the Style comes out, they will not get another BB. Makes me wonder if they are giving up on them all together.

After the Style hits, it will be interesting to see what new CDMA models RIM releases. All the specs on the new models are GSM.

Yep, and Sprint has their eggs in Android's basket and Verizon's are with Android and the iPhone. Can't blame USCC if RIM isn't makin 'em.
