Question Tour Phone Replacement

Has anyone had a "phone replacement" for their Tour on USCC? Are you getting another Tour, or are they sending the Bold? I am tempted to try since my Tour won't load half the apps I download (Error given), App World Icon is gone and if I have to reload the OS, I think I would rather get a new one. But not sure it's worth it for another Tour. Although I can use BBM, the PIN messages on the Tour will not vibrate in holster, another flaw.

I was able to negotiate a 9650 replacement for my wifes tur, but it was still within the manufacturers warranty (1 year) and it wasn't cheap, but still a far cry from retail price and it did give her a brand-new phone that will still be under manufacturer warranty when we are both eligible for new equip in may. When I did the replacement, they were really pushing hard for the tour refurb to be sent to my wife but this has been several months since the swap too.

It couldn't hurt to try. If they tell you it will be a refurbed tour, you may get another with the same isue or you may get lucky and they grab the wrong box of the shelf (and send you a 9650).....chances are that you will end up better off than you are right now either way. Let us know what happens.

I would like to hear if anyone has been successful with Phone Replacement for the Tour. When my Tour profiles didn't work (OS 4.7 initially), they sent me 3 with no improvement, despite my telling them not to bother as they are all the same, but I found USCC has never really owned up to problems with the Tour. They don't sell it anymore (that says something!), but whenever I ask, "have you heard of this problem," I get the surprised reply. I had tech support duplicate problems, and it appeared to be the first time they saw them (profiles not working, no vibrate for Pin in hoslter). I guess they don't want to be giving out lots of Bolds. And it seems RIM won't take much responsibility. But another Tour means hours of reloading apps (and the numerous reboots that means), and it is likely that many of the same issues will recur. I hear more BBs may be around the corner in the next year, may have to wait.

I have found more empathy at times from some in tech support, but it's random who you get and what they will offer.

Either a Bold or the newer Curve I would guess since that all the BBs US Cellular
has these days.
