Default Tour OS Upgrade release???

Does anyone if and when USCC is planning to release 4.7.1.57 or OS 5.0 for the tour? I can't get the GPS to work on my tour and I have read that this has been fixed in the 4.7.1.57 release, but I am also eager to get my thumbs on OS 5.0 for my tour as well. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Officially? Good luck. You might as well start running hybrids if you want 5.0

What are you currently running?

I am currently running the 4.7.1.53 release. I found a Tour 5.0 leaked release last night I am tempted to install this weekend, but I would prefer to stick with supported releases if I can. If you think it will be that long, I may load the 5.0 leaked this weekend anyway. Thanks.

You might as well just jump in man. As slow as USCC is with phone releases they seem to be even worse with OS updates.

If and when any carrier releases an official OS for the Tour wouldn't it work with US Cell if you just delete the vendor file, as you would with a hybrid? So essentially whoever releases it first it's open to everyone?

Theoretically I believe you are correct.

It works on mine with 4.7.1.53 on Uscc, I did have to edit permissions to get it to work with Google

I have edited the permissions and it still doesn't work for google. I have read that 4.7.1.57 contains a fix for the GPS not working with google, but since USC hasn't officially released the .57 update yet, I haven't bothered to take the time to update to a leaked or hybrid os yet.

Mine wasn't working until I did the "Garmin" trick. I had to do it on my 8330 also. It works great now with BBmaps and Gmaps. Just download the 7 day free trial of garmin and open the app once and then check Gmaps. It should connect fairly quickly then. Mine did. It was in less than 10 seconds. Then after you check it and it works just delete garmin. I hope this helps.

I knew USCC was slow I releasing phones but didn't realize they were also behind the OS ball as well. Ugh. Guess I will try a leaked 5.0.
How does USCC alert its customers of an official upgrade? Email? Somehow through DM?

Well I partly take that back...I didn't see your comment about DM which should alert you when an update is available but in my experience doesn't always.

But that has nothing to do with USCC, who to date does not communicate in any way about this kind of thing.

I have the 4.7 and no issues I also use Verizon's VZ Nav and love it.

I had called them last night and was told it is being worked on but they don't have a date yet. My former boss from Verizon also told me it is being worked on.....his RIM rep told him soon.

And there are new plans being released on Monday.........for sure

Likewise GPS works fine on both my VZW Tour (work) and USCC Tour (personal).
