Default Switching to US cell

I was a US cell customer for years but went to Verizion because of the Storm 2. Can I go back to US Cell with my storm 2?

but, nope. Only US Cellular branded phones will work on the USC network is what I've always understood.

You would have to get the phone unlocked in order for it to work on Us Cellulars network.

Good luck ive tryed several times and they catch the esn everytime. They do not let other phones on there net work if they can help it. However if you do get it to work let me know as the s-2 was the best berry ive used yet. The 8530 is not terible untill we get new choices.

The phone will work on the network, but good luck finding an employee to activate it for you.

US Cellular is CDMA, not GSM. Unlocking is done to use a phone on a GSM carrier.

Unlocking has no affect on CDMA. CDMA does not use SIM cards.

Spam elsewhere. US Cellular doesn't use SIM cards, they're a CDMA carrier.

Key word would be CDMA/GSM carrier, get it right. Contact your carrier and see if they are willing to activate the device.

No one said GSM, you did. US Cellular uses CDMA, period. No SIM cards, no unlocking. Methods to activate a non-USCC branded phone are discussed in the threads that I linked to. Goodbye

I was thinking US Cell was purely GSM, my mistake no need to act like the bully you seem to be.

Didn't mean to be a bully, but understand that this is a common question for US Cellular customers...how to activate another carriers phone on USCC's network. People get all excited when they read stuff about unlocking phones, etc when in fact it doesn't apply to US Cellular.

When they read posts like yours it makes it very difficult to convince them otherwise.

Well they are CDMA for now until they roll out their LTE network which will convert them to GSM.

Least as far as I have heard thats the plan.
