Default Only TWO months until black Friday!

Ok. it's actually two months from tomorrow, but I'm starting the count down today.

Has anyone else resolved to hold off upgrading their phone in order to hopefully grab an awesome deal on or around black Friday?

My daughter has been eligible since May (I think, maybe June) and has been patiently waiting in hopes that she can afford a Torch. I have to admire her resolve. She has been tempted by a couple of phones namely the LG Optimus U and Curve 9330, but has stayed strong with the 8530 that I gave her.

I hope I can do as well as her. It will get exceedingly hard for me once the Curve 9350 drops next month.

Maybe we could start a support group to help ourselves through the last two months. It could also serve as an anger management/grief support group after black Friday if the phone(s) that we have waited for don't go on sale.

Not much of a point to this post, I guess. Chime in if you are waiting and marking days off the calendar with me.

Does anyone remember what was on sale last year and for what? Was there any blackberries for sale?

If I remember right there were a handful of smartphones on sale for a penny. I think there were 4 to choose from but I don't remember if any were BlackBerrys. The year before that they put the entire phone selection on sale for a penny. After rebate of course.

All the BB's available at the time last year (9330 and 9650 for sure, there might have even been a few 8530's around) were the same price (I thought free but maybe they were all $29.99, I'm not sure). My wife got her 9330 shortly before the sale and we went in to get the refund of the $30 difference. I tried telling her she might as well get the 9650 since it too would be the same price, but she liked the smaller size of the 9330.

I will be getting the Curve in late October, knowing that if they do a BF sale I can get the price adjustment anyway. That'll give me a month headstart on getting to play with it

That is an awesome idea. I didn't know that they would adjust the price down like that. Do they do it in the form of a refund or an account credit?

Ask around over at tuscc...lots of USCC employees over there.

I gave in and got a HTC Merge off of Craigslist....I'm loving it and it should hold me well until spring, when I'll probably be in a position to get a new flagship device for close to free, thanks to belief points. Of course, that could go out the window if they spring a killer black friday special.

So ya, I'm with you Dairyberry...countin' the days. Of course I'm sure the rest of my family would rather see a new flat screen tv instead of a new phone.

I had a chance to play with a friend's Merge for a few minutes the other day. I was inpressed with how smoothly it ran. How do you like the keyboard and browser? I didn't get to try those two things out.

It gave me some confidence in the upcomming Curve because it seems to run well on an 800 MHz processor.

The browser is great. Not too much to say about. I use dolphin browser hd in addition to the stock browser, mainly for some extra features it has.

Keyboard is nice. Make no mistake, its no Bold keyboard. Took some getting used to, as its obviously spaced out more. But after a week of use my fingers are pretty well trained. I like the fact that the comma key is its own key, not a FN+ key. The symbols are still taking some getting used to.

Even though it "only" has 800mhz processor, I don't really notice a difference between this and the Desire (1 ghz) I tried.
