Question New unlock law?

So I was looking @ the US Cellular facebook page and someone posted that there was a change to the law about unlocking phones and using it on a different carrier? I did a search on here and didn't really find anything, but the comments on that post makes it sound like it will be possible to use say a Verizon Droid on USCC, which they would never do/allow before. Anyone have any more info? Has anyone tried it? Anyone thinking of trying it?

Not at all what the law is regarding. It has more to do with replacing factory software with hybrids, etc. As well as not limiting what can be installed on a device. Esn/meid numbers are still carrier specific. They won't activate a phone that wasn't sold by them. However, this may mean vzw has to unlock the gsm side of things on their phones from the get go...but with uscc they come unlocked (for world phones)

Hope that cleared it up for you!
