Default New Torch OS update?

Has anyone updated to v7.0.0.2048 on their Torch yet? Did it go smoothly or cause a meltdown?

I believe 464 is the newest os for the 9850. I have been running it for over a week and found no problems. It fixed my problems with "my navigator"

How long did the upgrade take? Did it restore everything well, or did you have to rearrange your homescreen again, and re-register some apps?

I took the opportunity to do a full wipe of my device before doing a clean install of the new os. Before doing that I did a full backup and then restored all data and settings afterwards. I still had to re-install all my apps but that wasn't a big issue as most of them have the ability to save their settings to the media card before wiping the device. The upgrade itself with wiping it took about an hour. Then I worked on re-installing apps at my leisure. It went pretty smooth.

When you say you "restored" all data and settings, is that by using RESTORE (after the initial BACKUP) on Destop Manager? I was afraid to do that (backup from old OS, restore to new OS?).

Yes. I used desktop manager to do a backup and then a restore. I was also a little weary of restoring settings from an old os into a new os but it worked perfectly. All my custom sound profiles and setting were restored. To answer your above question it even placed my icons in the same place. i did have to re-create one custom folder and i had to go thru the setup on my e-mail accounts in addition to installing apps but that only took a minute.

Thanks for the info, gjcavana.

Has anyone done an update without the full wipe first?
