Default Motorola Electrify

I recently got the Torch 9850 and have enjoyed it for the most part. I was fearful of leaving my physical keypad on my Bold 9650, but have adjusted ok. I think long term I may really appreciate the extra screen space.

That being said, I know USCC is coming out with some nice new Android phones including the Motorola Electrify. I wanted to give the Torch a good 30 day trial run before making a final decision, but the Electrify is certainly peaking my interest.

I have the Playbook so a big reason I want to stay with Blackberry is the bridge capabilities. What are your thoughts?

No matter what device you purchase today with a few days a new device will be announced or released which will be a so called better device.

Technology is moving fast in this industry so if dare sneeze you might miss something.

Actually this will be the most powerful phone on US cellular for the next year. Its a "flagship" phone.

I was really hoping that they'd get the BlackBerry 9930, but this might just be my next best alternative...

With a 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor w/ 1GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage...I *might* just have to try out a virtual keyboard again...

Have we heard of a date yet as to when it will be released?

From what I'm hearing on a us cellular forum that I'm on, from people who bought the electrify, the 16g of onboard storage is not all accessible. The scuttlebut is that moto partitioned it so that there will be room for Ice Cream Sandwich when it releases.

@SGRman it's available online right now, and I believe at select stores...check your local stores to find out. Supposed to be available everywhere either today or monday.

Thumbs down Electrify Critique

I got the Electrify on Black Friday. Since then I've had to replace that one - it locked up ALL the time. I'm continueing to have problems - ear dialing because the screen doesn't black out, extremely sensitive virtual keyboard, contacts are messed up beyond belief, the battery life stinks and worst of all it works poorly with SYNC in my car! The

On the positive - it is great for games and aps and the cameras are awesome.

My daughter got one also and her problems are different! So, we are in our 30 day window and going back to a BlackBerry Torch today.

AND the thing is honking big or so it feels - definitely not pocket friendly!!!

i do have the Electrify and really like it, but keep finding myself missing aspects of my BB. I really wish USCC would offer the Bold 9930

I also had the Electrify. Fortunately I didn't seem to have the same problems as some but did find that I was opening apps by accident when the screen wasn't locked. I agree that it is pretty big and wasn't friendly in my pocket either. Went to the Torch and back to Blackberry after an Android and Apple hiatus!!

I have the Electrify currently, but going to pick up a 9650 until a better BB comes out. I really miss my keyboard of my 9630. I love surfing the web, but I mainly use my phone to stay in contact with my wife, so messaging is a must and I hate typing on the screen of the Electrify, BlackBerry for life for me bro!

I never had problems with unlocking in my pocket at all btw.

I went back to my tour from the electrify. I liked the bells and whistles, but HATED the touch screen keyboard, the fact it did not stay on 3g, and really missed my battery life on the tour. Been off the charger since 630 am and at 62 percent at 11pm. This with email, texting, facebook, and 20 min of calling. The electrify would be at least 20 percent lower or more by now. Reliability beats out flash. I can do t all on my tour. Would like to get a BB8530 or 9330 when finances allow to have the wifi, the bold 9650 is still way too much to get used still.

I have gone back to the torch. The Electrify is a great phone but I missed the functionality of my BB. I didn't use half of the Apps on Android and found myself wasting more time than being productive. Of course that was probably my fault
