Default I Phone and USCC

It appears Verizon will soon get the I phone. As this phone gets around different carriers, what effect is expected on USCC? I love the BB, and would hate to lose USCC. But I think there will be mass defections due to popularity of the I phone. If USCC doesn't get it too, will they survive? Any chance they will get it too?

I highly doubt it but that is just my opinion.. Look at how long it took them too get the tour.. it seems like they get phones after other carriers are about to discontinue them.. I heard they are getting a couple android phones coming soon though..us cellular has great service where it is available but their phone selection is horrible!! All dumbphones with the exception of the curves, tour and the tp2.. I'm actually really surprised they got the 8530 as soon as they did..

I guess it would have to do with any type of exclusivity agreement Verizon gets with Apple. If they contract the iPhone as a CDMA exclusive, then it won't be out on other carriers (like the Storm series).

Seems like USCC is doing a better job of getting BBs out quicker. The 8530 and 8230 were both released within a couple weeks of being released on other carriers. The Tour was the only recent Berry to come out a few months after other carriers received it. It'll be interesting to see how quickly the 9650 makes it over to USCC.

What do you think will happen to USCC if Verizon does get the I Phone. Do you see mass defections, or do you think USCC has some alternate strategy? I fear that I phone on TMobile or Verizon may lead USCC to get bought or merged.

Hey, not EVERYBODY wants the iphone.. There's plenty of other decent devices they could get..and with as good as their coverage is ppl will stay wit them and more ppl will come.. Sure if they ever got the iphone they might bring in new subscribers..but if they don't get it their not gonna go under.. Uscc is the best service provider in the midwest in my opinion

USCC will always "survive". They may be a little slower at getting the latest and greatest, but their customer service has always been outstanding, and you really can't beat their plans as far as I'm concerned.

I agree the coverage and service has been great. But I keep seeing and hearing such interest in that I phone that I am a bit concerned if it spreads, there may well be mass defections. Although USCC has a limited phone selection, it's generally been adequate. But I think the I phone can be a game changer. But then I also heard the one Verizon is getting may not be the same and may not be as desirable as the ATT version.

personaly i have spoken with the data trech support people about there phones and stuff like that and if you think about it how manny times have you had to get your phone replaced? how manny times do people in other companies have to switch there "nice phones" uscell likes to make sure there stable and crap before they release it so they dont have alot of angry customers. the only reason the iphone is switching to verizon is because verizon proly offrered them more to me both companies are more obbsessed with their phone selection versus their customer support... and i have seen some reviews about the iphones... ty too manny applications to sort thru and you can only run 1 thing at a time whoop de doo if u can do internet and phone now with att soon that will be all over they just released it soon so they can have alot of problems if anything uscellular will just get bigger.... its here to stay

I wouldnt say us cellular is getting bigger. Not with the 43% drop in 1st quarter gains this year.. They arnt just rolling out the newest and best android phones come july for no reason. US Cellular is hurting and they know if they dont play catch up now the bleeding will never stop. Im switching to verizon in the next month when my contract is up because the service us cellular offers down here by KC is sad at best. NO 3G yet when sprint is rolling out 4G and i roam 95% of the time. I have no problems paying 10 bucks extra a month for better service where i live.. If i was still in iowa i probably would have stayed with us cellular, but not here.
