The hardware that the Merge has is amazing.
The specs, eh, not so much.

Plus the fact that Verizon won't even sell it in their stores and only at 3rd party, shows something also.
Hopefully it sells good on US Cellular.

What's wrong with the specs?

Under the hood you won’t find a 1.2GHz processor, or even a 1GHz processor. Instead, there’s the same 800MHz processor that HTC included with the T-Mobile G2, which launched months ago. It will launch with Android 2.2 running the show, has 4GB of internal memory, and 512MB of RAM. The touchscreen display measures in at 3.8-inches, and around back there’s a 5MP camera. No front-facing camera, no access to Verizon’s 4G LTE network and it doesn’t even have the latest version of HTC’s Sense UI.
I guess the 4G LTE doesn't matter for US Cellular users, nor the fact that Verizon "Binged" it out.

Yeah and it's important to note that its 800Mhz processor is actually faster than the current crop of 1Ghz processors out there, I can't speak to the 1.2 Ghz processors that are coming down the pipeline, except that USCC won't be seeing any of them soon.

Oh, I don't like the sound of that. Are you implying that USCC won't be offering anything new from BB?

Might be time for me to scratch that Android itch I've been experiencing lately.

I wasn't referring to BBs at all, they're not even on my radar anymore. Go get yourself an HTC Merge, BB is old and busted IMHO.

I guess one man's old and busted is another man's tried and true.

I really like my BB and have no complaints. I'm just curious about Android and would like to learn something new.

The Samsung Mesmerize is what I have been considering. It's pretty much opposite BB. Big screen no keyboard at all etc.

I think the Merge might be worth a look though.
