Hold up on Desire!?!

I dont usually follow new phone releases very closely but have been anticipating the desire for a while now. Expecially since ive been elligible for upgrade since feb. I was just wondering since they are sayin "early august", what is the normal time they will give as a heads up before the phone is released? I mean it is now august and there isnt a date set. Is it normally just a few days or since there is nothing set yet are we still weeks or more away from the desire?

The phone is being held up because of the screens that are used in the phone are made by Samsung and for some reason are slowing up the production of the phones. Right now there's no release date, but I did get a small catalog with new smartphones that are new to u.s.c and the desire was listed so I'm assuming within the month. Maybe the end of the moth.

USCC posted on their fb page the it will be for sale officially on Aug 27th & some stores will have stock in on the 25th. I know where I'll be that am!!!

Who's going to upgrade into the Desire? I been looking at the phone but don't know much about Android. Also i noticed that USCC took the BB Tour off the site. can that mean a new BB phone to replace it?

yes, the new blackberry is the bold 9650. Which is pretty much a tour with trackpad, wifi, and 512mb of memory.
