Question Desire or BB?

I'm thinking of switching from T-Mobile to US Cellular due to some coverage issues I'm having with T-Mobile as of late.

I've been a BB user for years, and currently have the 9700. But, if I make the move to USC, I'm thinking of switching to the Desire.

What do you see as the pros/cons of switching from the BB 9700 to the Desire? Also, if I make the switch and HATE the desire, can I return/exchange it for a USC blackberry phone, or am I just stuck with it?

The only drawback that I see going from a 9700 to the Desire is the loss of the physical keyboard. I'm going from using an 8830 and a Tour to the Desire. I'm actually finding the virtual keyboard on the Desire to be pretty usable. I have large hands and the keyboard is easy to use in landscape mode and I'm finding it much easier to use in portrait mode after I ran the calibration wizard.

In all other respects I find the Desire to be superior, maybe this is because I, like you, had been using a BB for me previous 4 or 5 phones and was ready for something new.

US Cellular has a 30 day return policy. If you tried the Desire and hated it you could switch over the Bold 9650, which is essentially identical to your 9700, within 30 days.

The 9650 also has 512mb of memory instead of 256mb in the 9700. And the 9650 is a little bigger then the 9700.

Also you can only return 1 phone with the policy. Say get the Desire then return the desire in the 30 days and get the bold 9650. Your stuck with the bold 9650 unless you cancel the contract.

I disagree so long as you're using Gmail. There are some small issues with attachments but otherwise it's good.

Suffice it to say that if your top priority is email and messaging you should probably stay with BB. No one does email and messaging better than RIM.
