Default Blackberry touch 9930??

Has anyone heard if US Cellular will be getting the new blackberry 9930? I know they're usually behind but recently they lowered the prices of the blackberries they currently sell.

Rumors have abounded that US is getting something new in June but no one will confirm anything, of course. Unsure if it will be that or perhaps the Monaco (or nothing).

Have to believe they are getting something new or dropping Blackberry all together (doubtful on the latter). People on here with "inside" information seem to think USCC gets a new Blackberry in June.

I wonder if there is a possibility that because both current USCC BB are EOL, that USCC will get the 9930 in mid summer and the Monaco in the fall? That would be sweeeet.

We can hope this is how it will pan out. I think it will be the other way around. Other rumors have put the monaco for the summer.

I have a pile of Belief points burning a hole in my pocket. I hope something happens soon.

DairyBerry, I sure hope you are right....I really don't want to get a Bold 9930 b/c I am really interested to at least try the full TouchScreen and my Tour is getting really tired.

It's kinda funny you should say that because I hope I'm wrong and the new Bold drops first. I'm interested in both but leaning towards the Bold.

In a perfect world, they would release them together so I could try one and exchange it for the other if need be. It would suck to spend the belief points on an early upgrade for the monaco only to not get along with the touch screen (has happened before) and have no choice but to go back to a 9650.

I won't be at the store on release day if the monaco drops first. I need to try to controll myself and think things out a little.

Well I called US Cellular yesterday to ask. Not surprisingly, they would say nothing. Nothing about what would be coming or when it would be coming. Not even any encouragement about [I]something[I] coming soon. Just nothing. I've always been happy with US Cellular but for the lack of devices and general unhappiness with the new stuff they do release. So, based upon their lack of information, I've moved on to another vendor. Sad considering I've been with them for several years.

according to USCC's first quarter reports, they plan to introduce 13 new smartphones this year and start rolling out 4g/LTE.

with 13 new smartphones coming out there should be room for at least 2 or 3 BlackBerries. One would think so anyway.

Don't waste your time asking the customer service rep for details. They aren't told anything and all they know is what is on the screen in front of them. I am not saying they are stupid. They just don't receive any more information on future devices than we customers get.

Makes sense if you think about it. Their job as a sales rep it to sell phones. Particularly the current models that are in inventory. It would be bad for business if the sales people were always telling potential customers to not spend any money and wait a month or two. After all there is ALWAYS something better just around the corner.

Did the vendor you switched to tell you exactly when in the next 2-3 months each of their new devices would be out?

My Tour has been dropping calls rather frequently lately (this just started happening over the last week or so). I'm worried my phone might be on its last legs. Hopefully we'll get word soon from US Cellular on new Blackberry phones, as changing providers isn't really an option for me.

Nope Pistolpetefan, they surely didn't and your point is well taken, though I did not ask them the same question. They had newer devices in which I was interested so there was no need.

I'm not a US Cellular hater, don't get me wrong. They did right by me for a long time. It was just time to move on and try something different. Maybe I'll go back!! There were some other reasons for moving on too but, all in all, they are a good company and I would recommend them to others. I just want to try something different.

So who is your new provider and what phone did you get? Is your coverage just as good?

I almost hesitate to say given the guilt I feel but I've gotten both an IPhone and a Droid Incredible. I have Verizon now and coverage is fine.
