Blackberry Curve 8530

Does anybody know if curve 8530 on U S Cellular will run google maps? Just want to know if it would work under USCC before I d/l it

Reason I asked I read on this site software.crackberry.com and selected the curve 8530 it said it was not, also most of the time BB maps can not find satellites when I run GPS in my BB

my 8530 runs google maps great. it doesnt take long to pinpoint my location with in a few meters.

i could never get the gps to work well on my 8130 though

Jailbreak? What exactly is it that you're trying to do? Activate it on another carrier? If so, which one?

What codes? USCC is CDMA, so it isn't like GSM where you can unlock and change SIM cards. The 8530 isn't a world phone, so it doesn't have a SIM slot either. The ESN is registered with USCC, so you can't register it with a different carrier. If you mean something different, you'll have to be more specific.

You're on the right track, but kind of backwards. US Cellular will only activate a phone with an ESN from their pool, but there is nothing that prevents you from taking it to another carrier except that other carrier. My VZW rep once told me they would activate any phone from any carrier provided it was compatible. I never did try it though.

As has already been mentioned, you kind of threw a couple buzzwords in there that can mean a couple different things, and don't necessarily apply to a Blackerry. Without knowing exactly what you are try to do, there's really no advice to give.
