BIS asks for login info, never been setup
Ok, got a friend who just got an 8530, and it's been a mess since day one. First USCC didn't have the right data package on her plan, so she couldn't do anything data related. Now that's been fixed, but when I go into her E-Mail settings to setup her e-mail it's asking me for her username and password. She swears that she has never set this up on the device, and I tend to believe her, since she really doesn't know much about the phone and how it works. When I had USCC a couple years ago, I remember having to create a BIS account username and password prior to setting up my e-mail, has this changed? Nowhere does it give me the option to create a new username and password. It's almost like this phone has been setup before on a BIS, and an account has already been created, but she says she purchased the device brand new.
Anyways, I just want to know if I'm missing anything here. Everything else on the phone (data wise) works fine, I simply can't get into the BIS to setup her e-mail. She said she talked to USCC, and they told her there's nothing they can do (which I don't buy for a minute).
Any advise would be appreciated. I have a feeling I'll have to call US Cellular for her to get to the bottom of it all. Thanks again!
