Exclamation Anyone else lose GPS on BBM and Google?

Went to use my GPS last week, first time in a month or so, searched for 10 minutes and could not lock into a single bird, use to take 5 seconds for 5, then 15 within 30 seconds. Phone was cracked open last year by Garmin free trial, since I still had that bookmark on my laptop I went and downloaded again and loaded, guess what, still does not see any birds. called USCC CSR, he could not explain why, when I asked about taking it into a repair shop and having someone look at my GPS chip, he backed away from answering my questions as to if I will get charged or not. I said if GPS is not working, and have insurance that has never been used on over 10 years with USCC, then you owe me a new phone under warranty, since now it is missing a factory installed hardware setup.

In past have gotten forced downloads of ring tones, games, and USCC videos icons. Anyone else getting forced downloads then losing access to other programs? I am at less than 44% on memory, so I know it is not pushing old out with new.....

Just got an email from another BB user, said to download Telenav from USCC and it will fix problem,,,,,,,, it did,,,,,,, that means USCC over the air flashed my BB 8330 and shut off my GPS chip, boy are they going to get a nasty email from me now. My faith in USCC went from 99% to somewhere below whale sh*t now.

If anyone else has had this problem, ignore version of BB it works on, it only used 1/2 my screen and was hardly readable, but just enough I could see where to click to get it installed. Website says if you can download it, then it is included in your 30 a month plan, software sucked on my 8330, but I GOT MY GPS BACK ON BBM AND GOOGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

to use google maps i used to have to run bbmaps then it would get my location. now even if i run bbmaps and it pinpoints my location google still wont. it says im in the middle of a corn field west of my house. uscc is really pissing me off now. i guess as long as bbmaps will pinpoint my location im ok though

My google (the one I prefer) is in and out, somedays it will turn on the gps chip by itself, some days it does not, and when not it will say 2k meters or so. When it fails to start, I do turn on BBM and let it warm up the chip, then turn off, then turn on google, usually chips stays hot as long as I do not exit google. One way to cheat, if you have the battery time, is to join google latitude and choose to exit but continue to share, then my chip stays hot for days on end if I need it here and there.

Telenav sucks on my unit, however the 8830 was not on their list of authorized BB systems anyway, BUT I DON'T CARE, I GOT MY GPS BACK!!!!

Currently writing that nasty letter to CRS@USCC about being lied to that they did not flash my phone with one of them pushed programs

current google is 4.4.0

if BB had the sat view available I would have no need for google, sometimes, once in a while, the map is off and it is nice to what the buildings in the area look like to figur it out for myself (job at only church lawn in area but gps says it is the office building) sometimes you just have to figure it out for yourself

I have a Tour on usc and have rarely had google maps access the buklt in gps. I have five other apps that use the internal gps just fine, including one Ive used in over 200 rounds of golf wit accuracy to several yards. Ive decided its google maps at fault. Some software appears to utilize the gps chip better than others.
I do miss the satellite view though.
