Default 8530 OS Update for U.S. Cellular??

I know that US Cellular sometimes lags behind with OS updates, but when are they gonna release an OS update for the 8530 Curve! If this question seems to be unknowable, what OS update from other carriers can I use for my BB Curve 8530. I have a theme with a weather slot that doesnt work unless it gets an upgrade. I am right now running OS v5.0.0.337. I heard many new OS updates for this device fixes other problems like battery drainage and stuff to. Any help would be appreciated!

I doubt there will be anything any time soon given that the 8530 is already running 5.0 and the Tour is still on 4.7. I would think they would update the Tour before working on the 8530 and that means lots of waiting...

Then again I could be wrong.

Just delete the vendor xml file. Make sure to find a guide here on CrackBerry about installing OSs that aren't for your carrier. You sound like you're a little green on the subject.

That's good, but the OP is talking about his 8530 and wouldn't want to install an OS for a different model BB.

So, Verizon has released OS 5.0 for the Tour. There are tons of posts about bugs. Should we expect USCC to release the same OS, only weeks to months later, or will they release one with improvements to what Verizon has released?

I wish USCC would come out with an update with the 8530. I don't know how to update my OS using another provider and the battery life kills me for this phone and I've only had it since March 2010.
