Default 8530 and EVDO

It has been rumored here and elsewhere that US Cellular may be getting the 8530 December 10th (or;so). My queston is, according to the specs I have looked up on the phone it is EVDO (Rev 0) capable device, and US Cellular's network expansion is EVDO (Rev 1). Can US Cellular make changes to the device to make it Rev 1 capable or are they really planning on releasing a device that will not be capable of using thier new expanded EVDO (Rev 1 ) network?

It's Rev A, not Rev 1.

USC cannot change the phone to Rev A, RIM built it with Rev 0 hardware, probably because it's a lower cost phone. USC had no choice with this, their only choice is carry the phone or don't carry the phone.
