1X vs 1XEV

My area just switched to 1XEV. It seems like the internet goes slower than just the plain 1X. What is the difference between 1X and 1XEV?

That is the difference. When you have a 1X data connection you are running at a slower data exchange rate. 1XEV means you have full "3G" coverage and your exchange rate is just about equal to that of a broadband connection. There are some other difference too but that that is the simple answer.

They must have done something wrong then because now my internet connection is even slower! They just activated it this week so I'm hoping that the bugs will get better.

Done that. Didn't work. I ran a phone update from USCC and so far it seems to be working better.
