1X and 1XEV

Hey everybody, I've had the tour for 3 weeks and my brother just got one. In the right corner mine just says 1X but his says 1XEV...So does that mean he has EVDO? We live about 30 miles north east of St. Louis MO, but in IL - has EVDO been rolled out around here? I'm just wondering about the difference...Why isn't my phone picking up the 1XEV? I haven't changed any settings, except I turned the GPS off. Other than that the phones should be the same software wise, except for apps. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

try dialing *228 to update your phone's roaming list
