Questions...

I have my pictures on my media card, sized at 200x200. I want to make the program start faster.

1. What if I make the pictures smaller. What size should they be?

2. Does the program look for the picture that i tell it too when the program runs and its stored in the program. Like Outlook does.

3. Leave them on Media card or on device?

it doesnt make picturedial run faster if you make the pic smaller. picturedial keeps a thumbnail database of the picture. the thumbnail size is 120x120.

once you added a picture picturedial does not reference the original pic because it keeps a copy of the thumbnail. this way it will load faster.

if you want to make picturedial run faster goto the Prefs and check to run in background.

Default picture dial

I had to get a replacement phone and have downloaded picture dial to my new phone but how do I get a registration number so I don't have to pay for it again?

Hey Smiley-
Great app that certainly improves contact list calling but I have one problem.
I can live with the load time but when I start Picturedial and switch to other apps without closing it, I can always bring it up quickly with the switch apps pop up. That is unless I actually touch a picture and make a call. After hanging up the call Picturedial closes and I am forced to restart with the 5 sec load time issue. That means if I make several calls from Picturedial I much wait for the load time on each call. After hanging up a call I can still bring it up in the switch apps pop up but when I press it the screen flashes slightly and it disappears, closing completely and forcing a restart of the app.

I do have "run in background checked." Any ideas how to get around this and keep it running in the background for quick dialing access?

actually this was changed in the final release where when you dial a contact pictureDial will exit. Before in the beta version picturedial would stay open until you close it. i can try adding an option to close or leave picturedial once you dial a contact.

Personally I think that would be the way to go, my guess is that most users will call from the app a lot in a day since it is so much easier than contacts calling (unless of course you need to wait the few seconds it takes to start up each time). It won't do me any good since just after I installed PictureDial my IT department pushed a security upgrade that does not allow any future 3rd party installs.

I appreciate the info though, it saves me the time trying to figure out a combination of exits that won't close the program (I do love this app but the delay everytime I want to make a call renders it much less useable).

I just upgraded to the new version for the Storm (.148), Looks like it wiped all my setting. I still see all the files on my media card. Is there a why to recover so I don't have to re input all my favs?
