Cool. Needs a Sticky for newbies

OK, I must be a total dummy because I have tried to do this twice now and both times when I did the search of my computer, the search results came up empty. I've been following the instructions to the letter. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

@the.question: you have to search "hidden files". That is 9/10 where it's going to be. Make sure to check "system files" also, but 9 times out of 10 it's in the "hidden files".

I thought I had hidden files checked, but I guess that was not the case. Like I said, total dummy. Thanks for the help.

Not sure if this will matter, but I did this on 2 PC's
one with DM 4.2 one with DM 4.5.
The 4.2 machine picked up everything, the 4.5 one
skipped 3 apps, any clues? - 07-20-2008, 01:38 PM

Which apps did it miss? I haven't had 4.5 miss anything thus far

TellMe, Instango and WeatherEye.
Just did both again to confirm, and same thing happened.Last edited by amazinglygraceless; 07-20-2008 at 02:03 PM.

Not a big deal, I know where to get those apps from
so it's all good. Just a weird quirk (or my BB bad karma - and you
know what I'm talkin' 'bout
)
The how too is still good. Pat yourself on the back. - 07-20-2008, 02:29 PM

This is a very good method. I have seen this on BBF and I always keep a up to date back up before I do a OS install incase the install goes bad.
