Plug in the device, open DM, then select the apploader. Then Add/remove programs. Then step your way to the finish. After it loads, restore from a previous backup.

Do you have the USB connected to a hub? It will not find it sometimes on a hub. Connect it directly to a USB port.

I connected directly to the usb port..also curious I have the 8310 curve and was advised to get os 4.5.0.69. I tried it with this step with version 4.5. Didn't work as it says on the app load screen error. So I removed it and trying now with DM 4.6. Will 4.6 work with 4.5.0.69?

Does it matter which I down load first? OS or DM?

I can't get the Javaloader to wipe my BB, and typing loader.exe/nojvm in the CMD doesn't open the AppLoader...

What am I doing wrong here? My BB is connected (to a port, not a hub)... nothing is working!

I'm beginning to think it's a sign that I should not be loading a Beta OS....

Make sure you hit enter after typing blackberry. Also, it may take 4 or 5 tries before it connects.

Yeah, I tried about 20 times and got nothing. It just went back to the screen where you press 4 to wipe.

In the end I just installed it without wiping first. It was much less of a pain. All my apps were backed up and everything works perfectly.

What's "App Error 205" Crucial?

For Mac users, Virtualbox can't run this properly.. but VMWare Fusion 2.0 RC1 that I tested can. I had a few harrowing hours with a stuck bold, but the apploader usb-unknown->next method works.

I am uncertain that wipe really means wipe.. because it seems as if one has to pull the battery and then reinsert it to really begin the 'wipe' process if I remember right.. and even when that happens, the 'push' weather channels, etc. seem to remain, unless that's done from the BIS end rather than the device itself?

I guess reset to factory defaults means, change all settings you changed back to what they used to be, but does not erase anything.

Ahh, that would explain my issue. I use VMWare Fusion to run Windows on my MacBook Pro.

This should be noted

I figured out why I got this error code: Didn't have the shared folders during the build of the OS.
