Yes. The filename has changed but I chose to ignore that, figuring, anybody that has already gone through the Update, likely would spot the minor difference.

It will be updated when there is a official North American carrier update.

This problem has been reported with the 8330, but not by all users.

The solution is to re-install Desktop Manager. That corrects the connection issue after the OS has been installed.

Stoner what a great post! Thanks for your help in this! I've still got one problem though

Somewhere in the process of uninstalling and installing crap, my DM no longer has Media Manager. Any ideas?

Glad to hear you are making progress. We have a PM converstion in progess too.

Not all DTM packages include Media Manager. For now, lets concentrate on getting your Curve optimized.

You do not want Media Manager building it's indexes while you are trying to troubleshoot problems. It slows everything down to a crawl.

Once you are done, run the DTM install again and select Custom. If it is still not there, you may have to download a different DTM package.

Since I first got my curve I've only seen 11Mb file space free. Even when I put on beta release's, I still have roughly 11Mb free.

I'm confused as why I've never seen anything like the file space that you guys are mentioning i.e 31Mb or 22Mb .

Anyone got a idea why ?

Mine is a little overboard, but I am running 32 Mb of File Free after a restart.

Were you able to follow the steps for managing with Applications Loader?

Ive not done all the stuff, but I've not got a lot of the extra languages and stuff, but still as default, without any tweaks, how much file space should I have ?

Out of the box, my 8320 had 18 Mb. Yours would be similar.

Many of the BlackBerry applications are important to keep, but there are likely several that serve no function on your device.

Refering back to step #3:

Quote:
BlackBerry Maps - 640 Kb

BlackBerry MDS Runtime - 799K

DOD Root Certificates - 62 Kb

BlackBerry S/MIME Support - 2 Kb

1.5 Mb here possably

The more advanced steps will also free up a lot of memory.

Quote:
Wall Paper - 2 -3 Mb (device dependent)

Themes - 300 Kb each typical

Voice Activated Dialing - 600 Kb

3 Mb more for the Curve.

Thanks. When I get a moment, I'll rip the crap out of it and see what I end up with and let you know.

Unless you missed a digit, that is not good at all. 1 963 011 bytes file free is very low. Go back to the very post in this thread and work your way through the steps.
